WhatsApp in NUACOM: Setting Up

As mentioned in this guide, before setting up WhatsApp, you need to have:

  1. A verified Meta Business Portfolio
  2. A user with admin rights for Meta Business
  3. A phone number to connect

Step 1: Prepare your Meta Business Portfolio

Before connecting your numbers, your business must have a Meta Business Portfolio.

Verify or create your Meta Business Portfolio

  • Most companies already have a Meta Business Portfolio. Check for an existing one before creating a new account.
  • If unsure, contact your marketing team to verify whether one exists.
  • If your company does not have a Meta Business Portfolio, create one following Meta’s setup instructions.

    Tip: Access your Meta Business Portfolio using an existing Facebook account to reduce the risk of being flagged or blocked by Meta. When creating a new Business account, gradually add administrators to avoid potential restrictions.

Verify your business with Meta

If your business is not yet verified, follow Meta’s verification instructions.
Verification can take anywhere from 10 minutes to 14 business days. Meta will notify you once the review is complete.

 

Step 2: Connect numbers to the integration

Once you're ready to connect, head to Apps & Integrations, locate the WhatsApp integration, and click Connect.

If needed, the integration will prompt you to activate the WhatsApp addon for your account to continue.

Proceed with the purchase of the addon, and once finished, you'll be redirected to Step 2.

In this step, you need to add the number you want to connect. Please add it in E.164 format. (+CountryCode Number)

 

When ready, click on Login with Facebook.

Log in to Facebook and click on Continue to allow the connection to your business profile:

In the Next screen, make sure to select the correct Business portfolio:

Important: Only one Meta Business Portfolio and WhatsApp Business Account can be connected to NUACOM. The selected profile applies to all phone numbers linked to WhatsApp in NUACOM.

Then if its the first number you connect, select Create a new WhatsApp Business account otherwise select the existing profile

Enter your WhatsApp Business Display Name (visible to customers) and select a Category (if needed) that best describes your business. Then choose how you want to verify the number to connect, by call or SMS.

Once verified, click Confirm to finish the setup.

That's it! You have now successfully connected your first number to NUACOM. You can always connect additional numbers by adding them in the integration and clicking on Continue with Facebook.

Follow the same prompts as before, but note the following:

  • WhatsApp Business Account (WABA): Reuse the same one you created for the first phone line. Only one WABA can be associated with each NUACOM account.
  • WhatsApp Business Profile: Create a new profile for each phone number you connect.
