WhatsApp in NUACOM: Overview

NUACOM brings WhatsApp for Business, enabling landline and mobile numbers to be used for WhatsApp messaging. You can send and receive WhatsApp messages directly in the NUACOM Desktop app and soon in the mobile apps. This feature is designed for business communication, not personal WhatsApp use.

 

What is WhatsApp for business?

It's an additional communications channel that connects your NUACOM numbers to WhatsApp for seamless messaging alongside customer calls and SMS. 

With WhatsApp, you can:

  • Send, receive, and track WhatsApp messages directly in the NUACOM desktop app and mobile apps(soon) with combined text,
    • Image: jpeg, jpg, or png — up to 16 MB
    • Document: xlsx, docx, doc, pptx, or pdf — up to 16 MB
    • Audio: ac3, amr, 3gpp, mpeg, or ogg — up to 16 MB
    • Video: mp4  — up to 16 MB
  • Create pre-approved, branded templates for consistent, compliant communication
  • Use NUACOM Messaging SLA to track WhatsApp responses and optimise your messaging strategy
  • Collaborate efficiently by assigning conversations to teammates or departments
  • Connect external numbers to NUACOM for use with WhatsApp, available in all geographies

Important Info to Know before you start

  • Activating WhatsApp on NUACOM for a number previously connected to WhatsApp will remove access to that number’s prior WhatsApp message history.
  • WhatsApp Business Platform: WhatsApp in NUACOM uses the WhatsApp Business Platform (API), not the free WhatsApp Business App or personal WhatsApp accounts.
  • Meta Business Account: You must have a verified Meta business portfolio before completing the setup.
  • Templates for initiating: To start a new conversation, Meta requires using a pre-approved message template.
  • Pricing: The WhatsApp channel is an add-on with license and usage fees. 
  • External numbers: You can connect external numbers to NUACOM for use with WhatsApp. This option is available in all geographies, and most numbers are eligible for integration.
  • Unsupported features: Group messaging, personal WhatsApp use, and migration of prior WhatsApp message history into NUACOM are not currently supported.
  • Campaign Limitations: Bulk campaign messaging may be limited by Meta's Requirements and Limits.

 

Setup process

  1. Ensure your Meta Business Portfolio is verified.
  2. On the NUACOM web Portal, head to the apps & integrations page, locate WhatsApp for business integration. If you don't see it, you'll need to activate it through our support team.
  3. Connect your desired numbers (including external numbers) to Meta via the embedded flow.
  4. Create and submit outbound message templates for Meta approval.
  5. Once approved, start sending and receiving WhatsApp messages directly from the NUACOM apps.
