Yealink W60B + W56H – Installation & Quick Use Guide

I. Installation and Assembly

The Yealink W60P DECT system includes a W60B Base Station and a W56H Handset

Always use Yealink-approved power adapters and accessories.


A. W60B Base Station Setup

  1. Connect Power & Network (choose one method):
    • a) AC Adapter: Plug in the Yealink 5V/600mA power adapter.
    • b) PoE: Connect the network cable to a PoE switch/hub.
      (If using PoE, the power adapter is not required.)
  2. Mounting Options:
    • Desktop: Align the base stand’s snap-fits with the slots and push until they click.
    • Wall Mount: Mount directly to the wall using the 59×59 mm spacing.

B. W56H Handset Setup

  1. Insert Battery: Insert the rechargeable battery into the handset.
  2. Attach Belt Clip: Snap the belt clip onto the handset.
  3. Charge the Handset:
    • (Optional) Mount the charger cradle to the wall (36×36 mm).
    • Connect the Yealink power adapter (5V/600mA) to the cradle.
    • Place the handset in the cradle and check the charging icon on the LCD.

II. Registering the Handset

A W60B supports up to 8 handsets.


A. Easy Registration

  1. If the handset displays “Unregistered!”, press and hold Paging on the base until its LED flashes.
  2. Press Reg on the handset.

B. Normal Registration

  1. Press OKRegister Handset.
  2. Select the base station → OK.
  3. After the base is found, press OK.
  4. Enter PIN 0000 (default) → Done.

If registration succeeds, the handset shows “Handset Subscribed” plus the base number (last 4 digits of the base MAC).


III. Basic Handset Operations

A. Power & Mode Controls

  • Turn On: Place in charger or press Power.
  • Turn Off: Long-press Power.
  • Lock/Unlock Keypad: Long-press # when idle.
  • Silent Mode On/Off: Long-press # when idle.

B. Volume Control

  • Ringer Volume: Press ▲ / ▼ when idle or ringing.
  • In-Call Volume: Press ▲ / ▼ during a call.

C. Making Calls

  1. Direct Dialing:
    Enter number → press Talk, Speaker, or Headset key.
  2. Speed Dial:
    Long-press the assigned speed-dial key.
  3. From Call History:
    History → list → select entry → Talk/Speaker/Headset.

IV. Call Handling Features

A. Answering / Ending Calls

  • Answer: Press Accept, Talk, or Speaker.
  • End: Press End Call.
  • Ignore/Reject: Silence soft key or End Call.

B. Active Call Management

  • Mute / Unmute: Press Mute during a call.
  • Hold: Options → Hold.
  • Resume / Swap:
    • If one call on hold → Resume
    • If two calls on hold → Resume or Swap

C. Call Transfer Methods

1. Blind Transfer

  1. Options → Transfer
  2. Enter number
  3. Transfer

2. Semi-Attended Transfer

  1. Options → Transfer
  2. Enter number
  3. Press Talk/Speaker/Headset
  4. After ringback tone → Transfer

3. Attended Transfer

  1. Options → Transfer
  2. Enter number
  3. Press Talk/Speaker/Headset
  4. After the other party answers → Transfer
