Setting Do Not Disturb on Cisco 8851

On Cisco 8851, use the “Do Not Disturb” feature to prevent incoming calls from ringing your phone. If you have voice mail configured, incoming callers immediately reach voice mail. If voice mail is not configured, callers hear a busy signal or message.

Activating Do Not Disturb

Using the DND soft-key:

To activate Do Not Disturb, press the DND soft-key. The LCD screen indicates that Do Not Disturb is turned on for your phone.

Using the Setup button:

You can also access Do Not Disturb by performing the following steps:

STEP 1   Press the Settings button.

STEP 2   Scroll to User Preferences. 

STEP 3   Scroll to Call Preferences.

STEP 4   Scroll to 'Do not disturb', move to 'On' and press 'Set'. 

Using the star code:

Enter *78 to activate Do Not Disturb.

 

Deactivating Do Not Disturb

Using the DND soft-key:

To deactivate Do Not Disturb, press the Clr DND soft-key. The LCD screen indicates that Do Not Disturb is now turned off for your phone.

Using the Setup button:

You can also access Do Not Disturb by performing the following steps:

STEP 1   Press the Settings button.

STEP 2   Scroll to User Preferences. 

STEP 3   Scroll to Call Preferences.

STEP 4   Scroll to 'Do not disturb', move to 'Off' and press 'Set'.
